Hampton Field Renovation

Posted by piedmont on July 11, 2007

Tonight, 11 July 2007 at 5:30, the Piedmont Park and Piedmont Rec commissions are holding a joint meeting to discuss the Hampton Field renovation project.

Good news: basketball courts stay, tennis courts remain in the sun, drainage and seating are improved.

Bad news: an artificial turf baseball infield? This is a bad thing.

Written comments should be directed to the Park Commission in care of Mark Feldkamp at mfeldkamp@ci.piedmont.ca.us and/or to the Recreation Commission in care of Mark Delventhal at mdelventhal@ci.piedmont.ca.us.

UPDATE: Both Park and Rec unanimously approved the plan. The baseball infield surface is still under consideration. Send your comments today!

Can anyone cite a field where artifical is used for small kids? I’VE NEVER SEEN IT.

Beach Field has FieldTurf and is used all the time by PBSF for Shetland and Pinto play.
