Library Access for Piedmont
Posted by Len Gilbert on January 6, 2011
Has anyone been following the recent articles about Piedmont’s attempt to renew our contract with the Oakland library system? Piedmont Patch has two articles, Cities Must Buy In to Get Residents Free Libraries and Piedmont Ponders the Value of Library Services.
What do you think? Do you use the Oakland library system? Does Piedmont get value by paying the access fee? How much more should we pay? Is a 5% increase enough? Should Piedmont setup it’s own library? What about the vacant building at the corner of Bonita and Magnolia? Might that be converted into a library?
