School Calendar Survey

Posted by Len Gilbert on February 22, 2011

The Associated Parents Clubs of Piedmont (APCP) has a new survey to gather your thoughts and opinions on the school calendar and the process to develop that calendar. Related items such as minimum days and conference schedules are included in the survey. Who should have input and how much input? What do you think? Shorter summer or start school after Labor Day? Is 4 days enough for “ski week”?

The letter and information about the survey is below.

Dear Piedmont Parents,

We invite you to participate in the 2011 Calendar Survey. Your feedback will help future planning for some of the different aspects of Piedmont’s academic calendar and school schedules. It should only take 5-10 minutes of your time to complete – we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s the link: (The link is available in an email sent by your child’s school to all parents) The survey will remain open from now until next Tuesday, March 1.

Thank you for your time and input!

Volunteers Need for Camp Augusta Work Weekend

Posted by Len Gilbert on February 16, 2011

Camp AugustaCamp Augusta is once again recruiting volunteers for their annual Work Weekend April 16 & 17. Last year’s work weekend attracted more than 100 helpers of all ages to ready the camp for spring and summer sessions. This year, the camp needs to limit that number to 30-40 people to make feeding and housing the volunteers more manageable.

If you are familiar with a saw, hammer or a screwdriver – we need you! Have good carpentry or architectural skills – that’s a BIG plus!  But regardless of your skill level, all contributions – big or small – are most welcome and appreciated.

Please register today with Camp Augusta Work Weekend coordinator, Julie Gardner at: jgardner@grubbco.com or at 510-339-0400.  Thank you for your help!
