Posted by Len Gilbert on February 1, 2011

The Giving Campaign for Piedmont schools has announced the final numbers for the 2010 fundraising campaign.  More than 1,000 PUSD families, grandparents, community members and corporate matching companies contributed a total of $1,573,000 to the Associated Parents Clubs of Piedmont (APCP), up from $1,300,000 last year.  In addition, a total of $170,000 was contributed to the Piedmont Educational Foundation (PEF) this year to build the Endowment Fund and finance K-12 grants through the Foundation Fund.
The Giving Campaign would like to thank all of the wonderful and generous donors, volunteers and other supporters of this year’s fundraising effort.  64% of families with school age children contributed to The Giving Campaign this year, up from 62% participation during the 2009 campaign.  For a full list of supporters of the 2010 Giving Campaign visit http://www.piedmontgivingcampaign.com/docs/donorlist.pdf.
“We are so thankful for the support of the Piedmont community during this year’s important fundraising initiative,” said Giving Campaign Chair Andrea Swenson.  “During this challenging economic time the fate of California public schools is uncertain, and it is vital that we all do our part to support our children’s schools with our time, efforts and checkbooks.  We sincerely appreciate the efforts of everyone who participated in this year’s campaign to help keep Piedmont schools strong.”
Each and every PUSD student will benefit from The Giving Campaign, with monies raised going toward preserving essential academic programs.  The Giving Campaign accepts donations all year so it’s never too late to contribute.  Donations can be made at www.PiedmontGivingCampaign.com or by calling the Fundraising Office at (510) 653-1816.
