Action Alerts from the Piedmont Connect Newsletter
Monday, February 4, 7:30 p.m.  Piedmont City Council will be voting on joining the new Energy Council, a Joint Powers Authority which will allow Piedmont to partner with other cities to apply for competitive grant funds for energy efficiency and climate protection.  Although it would be ideal, from Piedmont’s perspective, for each member city to have one vote, refusing to join if the larger cities are given more votes would put us at a big disadvantage for applying for these important grants.  Connect encourages its members to weigh in on this by writing Council or attending the meeting.  The Staff Report is athttp://www.ci.piedmont.ca.us/html/govern/staffreports/2013-01-07/energy_council.pdf
Monday, February 11, 5 p.m.  The Planning Commission is seeking the community’s feedback on developing Piedmont’s first Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan, and there will be an opportunity for public comment at their February 11th meeting.  To see the draft proposed outline of the plan, go to http://www.ci.piedmont.ca.us/?p=1921 .  To join Connect’s “Green Transportation” interest group, go to https://sites.google.com/site/connectpiedmonttransport/
